I really enjoy your comic but what in the world is up with Martha's recipe? It would not hold together or have decent texture if you had removed the fat (butter) out and replaced it with corn syrup. And triple the sugar? Compared to what? Pie crust dough? You're a wonderful artist. I like all of SMMA so far, except the last pannel on this comic. You must have done this on purpose to see how many people would gripe to you about this. Right?

Got some questions about leftover minicomics. YES, there were leftovers. I’ve sent them to various comic shops to sell; unfortunately I don’t have the time in my schedule right now to sell them online. Sorry and thanks for understanding.

The shops are: The Beguiling (Toronto), Secret Headquarters (LA), Librairie Drawn + Quarterly (Montreal), GOSH! Comics (London, UK), and Desert Island (Brooklyn).

I sent them out this week; they should be at the various places soon.

My MoCCA Schedule, deluxe edition:

First off, MutantMagic zines (includes 3 new comics and risograph cover) and posters will be available at the Society of Illustrators table, which I believe is called the “Museum Shop”.

There’s going to be a section of the Armory called “The Gallery”. Some of my work will be in there too.

SIGNINGS: 2-3 both Saturday and Sunday, at the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund table.

TALK: On Sunday, I will be in discussion with Ryan Sands, he of the Thickness anthology and the upcoming Youth In Decline. This will take place in the Programming Room on the Lower Level. Other programming here.

Several of you inquired about purchasing a print of the Marsha and Wendy illustration I posted a few weeks ago. Because I love and appreciate you, I made some!

The stats: 11x17, matte paper, comes folded in half. Shipped in a cardboard kraft envelope. $5.

I have really tried to keep the price down on this. Unfortunately, postal rates just went up and it’s one of those cases where non-Americans will end up paying more in shipping than the cost of the poster. I’m really sorry about this.

Some MoCCA programming has been announced!

On Sunday, April 6, 1:00 – 2:00, I will be “in conversation” with my good friend Ryan Sands! I hope it can be less a “tell me about your life” talk and more a real conversation about broader topics like creative communities, the internet, collaborations, anthologies, trends, and our upcoming projects (including Ryan’s new publishing house YOUTH IN DECLINE). And, of course, lots questions from the audience.

There will be signings on both days, I think. I don’t know the times for that yet though. I’ll tell you when I find out. I will have some SMMA minis for you to buy!

[Note: the fee to get into the festival is $12 to pre-order, $15 at the door. Hopefully they’ll greatly reduce/abolish the entrance fee in the next few years, but for now, it is what it is. Don’t want anyone to show up and be surprised.]
